The original Game Boy - initially available only in grey casing - was given a fresh lick of paint with a set of new colours in the early 1990s. In 1997, Nintendo went one better, shrinking the Game Boy's dimensions to create the even smaller Game Boy Pocket series. Notes about Yellowing: It is Very common for white/light colour consoles to have some degree of yellowing as consoles are made with a plastic containing  flame-retardant chemicals to meet safety guidelines. Over time the plastic will age and discolour both because of these chemicals as well as from the normal heat generated from the product or exposure to light. Because of the light colour of the plastic on most white/grey consoles this discoloration is more easily seen unfortunately there is nothing we can do about yellowing, and while we clean our consoles as best possible, some may still exhibit a degree of yellowing.
